Canada Spousal Visa
Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible to sponsor your spouse, partner, or dependent child:
- Age Requirement:
- You must be at least 18 years old at the time of the application.
- Canadian Citizenship or Permanent Residency:
- You must be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada.
- If you are a Canadian citizen living outside Canada, you must demonstrate your intention to reside in Canada when your sponsored family members become permanent residents.
- Permanent residents living outside Canada are not eligible to sponsor.
- You must be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada.
- Financial Stability:
- You need to prove that you are not currently receiving social assistance for reasons other than a disability.
- Basic Needs Provision:
- You must demonstrate the ability to provide for the basic needs of the individuals you intend to sponsor.
Sponsorship Agreement:
When you decide to sponsor your family members, both you and your sponsored family members will need to agree to certain responsibilities outlined in the sponsorship agreement. This includes:
- Basic Needs Provision:
- You commit to providing for the basic needs of your sponsored family members during the undertaking period.
- Effort towards Self-Support:
- The person you sponsor agrees to make every effort to support themselves and their family members.
Application Process:
To initiate the sponsorship process:
- Form Submission:
- Complete and sign the required forms, including the undertaking and sponsorship agreement.
- Documentation:
- Gather necessary documents to support your eligibility and the relationship with your sponsored family members.
- Undertaking Period:
- Understand and agree to the undertaking period, during which you commit to supporting your sponsored family members.
